Hi.

Welcome to my website. Documenting special events and adventures throughout the years. I hope you can stay a while - make yourself at home.

Day 3: November 28, 2019

Turkey day! Planned Thanksgiving to be my cheat day and a non-workout day, so here’s how it all played out:

  • Woke up early after only about six hours of sleep to go to the turkey trot. Shake and bagel in hand to make sure I kicked the day off with about 1000 calories. Made it through all the festivities without having any alcohol - the whole non-drinking thing seems to get easier and easier each year, especially when I have a goal in mind. Walked a couple miles in the trot and headed home just in time for the second glutamine dose of the day.

  • As I only got six hours of sleep the night before, I decided it’d be a good idea to grab a nap for another couple hours. I think it’ll be best to get at least 8 total hours of sleep a day, so moving forward I’ll prioritize a full nights rest if I can, but supplement with naps if needed.

  • After the nap, I put back a quick shake just to give me some calories to tie me over till dinner in a couple hours. Dinner was made by Mom and Caroline and it was delish as usual. Loaded up with hefty servings of everything plus a huge glass of milk - skipped the alcohol for dinner aside from a champagne toast.

  • Warning - potential TMI: As the night went on I started to notice some serious constipation. After talking it through with my sister’s boyfriend we both felt dehydration was the culprit, so I proceeded to throw back about a half gallon of water over the next few hours. It certainly helped and within a couple more hours I was all good to go. Just another confirmation that over the next week or so I’ll really need to dial in my hydration and make sure I’m getting an adequate amount of water given all the food, protein, and supplements I’m taking.

  • A couple hours after dinner I helped myself to a couple slices of pie and some pot de creme. I’m not planning to hit desserts or sweets often during the program, but on cheat days I’m saying no restrictions, which will definitely break up the monotony of my regular meal plan.

  • Before we sat down to watch Love Actually (as we do every year on T-gives to mark the start of Christmas) I went back for another full plate of Thanksgiving dinner and a full glass of milk. I don’t know the exact calories of the Thanksgiving plates I was taking down, but all in all I’d guess I topped out at around 5000 calories for the day.

  • Supplements all went down easy throughout the day, and I’m not feeling any adverse affects from anything at this point. I feel constantly full from the full and that has me a little demotivated but overall health feels good.
