Social Impact

Supporting others and community has always been a part of nearly everything I’ve done. I try to support social causes that are close to me whenever possible, in whatever way is helpful. Here are a few recent actions I’ve taken with help from others, that I’m proud to know have supported worthwhile organizations and causes.

Carbon Assessments

While living in my van in 2019 I decided to do an annual carbon emission assessment, and neutralize my carbon footprint by purchasing carbon offsets. My first assessment was for 2018 and 2019 combined, for which I offset nearly 40 tCO2e. My intent is to continue to do this each year and maintain a carbon free footprint.

Doin’ IT for the Kids

In 2017 I traveled out west with just my motorcycle and a duffel bag to volunteer for non-profit organizations that support low-income families and children. I documented my travels, work with various organizations, and other thoughts by way of letters to friends and family.

Chop the Mop

When the time came to hop on the Harley for the road trip, it mean the long hair had to go. With the help from friends and family, we raised just over $2200 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, and donated my hair to Pantene’s Beautiful Lengths program, which makes wigs for women battling cancer.
